muangeni primary school

The Lotus School Foundation is excited to break ground on our 61st project, the reconstruction of Muangeni Primary School that serves over 200 students.
The school was built in 1976, and is situated in one of the remote ares of Nzaui Sub County, Nguu Masumba Ward. The area is prone to annual droughts that wreak havoc for the community. The parents are highly affected by this environmental aspect that they are unable to support the infrastructure deterioration of the school, leaving students having to learn in unsafe classrooms. In addition, the break down of the girl restrooms have severely affected the girls. The attached photos highlight the school’s current deteriorating conditions.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. Thanh Phuong Chau with for her generous sponsorship of this new school to honor the memory of her father, Bác Le Trieu Dau. This is the 2nd sponsored school from Mrs. Thanh, as she also sponsored ThiThi Primary School to honor the memory of her mom in 2024. We are sincerely thankful for her unwavering support and donation of $22,880 to fund this project. The cost will cover four new classrooms with a library story and restrooms for the boys and girls. The new school is expected to complete by January 2026.

Thanks to the kind support of Mrs. Phuong Chau, the children at Muangeni Primary School now have a safe and bright place to learn and grow. The school was rebuilt in memory of her father, Bác Le Trieu Dau. Ms. Chau’s gift is more than a building—it is a symbol of kindness and hope through education. With her help, the school now has new classrooms, a strong roof, safe restrooms, wash water station, and a special storage space for medicine and food, giving every child a better chance to succeed.
On behalf of all the students, families, and teachers, we thank Ms. Chau and her family deeply. We hope her father’s spirit will continue to inspire everyone who visits the school. This is the start of a brighter future for over 200 students, thanks to the power of education. LSF team cannot wait to visit the schools and meet the children at the end of July for the grand-opening ceremony.
