BUILDING KIBWEZI COMMUNITY, ONE SCHOOL AT A TIME!
The Lotus School Foundation team has chosen Ivingoni Primary School in Kibwezi East Constituency as their next rebuilding project in Kenya. This school was built in 1978. During our visit to the school, we have discovered serious infrastructure issues, including hazardous asbestos roofing that collects rainwater, posing a risk to students. Additionally, there is a lack of proper sanitation and restroom facilities for girls, presenting significant challenges, particularly during their menstrual cycles.
LSF has obtained the necessary permit from the local government to reconstruct the school, benefiting 170 students. The estimated total cost of the project is around $20.941, covering the construction of five new classrooms, replacement of roofing, installation of restrooms, sanitary wash stations, and new classroom furniture.
