GROUND BREAKING CEREMONY 12/20/2024

LSF is proud to announce the Ground-Breaking Ceremony for ThiThi Primary School today! This significant milestone is made possible through the generous support of our sponsor, Mrs. Phuong Chau. In a heartfelt tribute to her late mother, Le Thi Ninh, Mrs. Chau is investing in the future of children by rebuilding ThiThi School. This initiative will benefit 426 students who have been learning in a facility that has severely deteriorated since its establishment 48 years ago in 1976. The majority of the families in this village struggle to survive on less than a dollar per day. Many parents in this community face limited employment opportunities, relying on subsistence farming, which has been adversely affected by an extended drought. As a result, most families struggle to survive on less than a dollar a day.
The project cost is estimated at $21,247. The cost will cover the rebuilding five classrooms with a medicine/food storage. The process includes replacing the hazardous asbestos roof and beams, replacing tile flooring, install doors and windows, replastering, and painting; renovating the restrooms and built hand-washing stations. The school is estimated to complete by the end of March – April 2025. By revitalizing the school, Ms. Chau not only honors her mother’s legacy but also invests in the futures of these children, providing them with a safe and inspiring environment to learn and thrive. Today’s event is also especially meaningful as it coincides with the day that Ms. Phuong Chau and her family honor and celebrate her mother’s life. May her mother’s spirit smile upon this meaningful project, as it creates a lasting impact on the lives of thousands of disadvantaged children in Africa

New ThiThi Elementary School Completed in May 2025

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our sponsor, Ms. Phuong Chau, the children at Thithi Elementary School now have a safe, bright, and welcoming place to learn and grow. This new school is a true symbol of hope for the community, replacing an aging building that had served for nearly 50 years. Built in loving memory of her mother, Le Thi Ninh, Ms. Chau’s gift is more than just a building—it is a legacy of kindness, opportunity, and faith in the power of education. Her support has provided new classrooms, a secure roof, modern restrooms, and a special storage area for medicine and food, giving every child the chance to thrive. This achievement shows what we can accomplish when we work together with love and purpose.

On behalf of every student, family, and teacher whose lives have been changed by this new school, we offer our deepest thanks to Ms. Chau and her family. May her mother’s spirit continue to inspire everyone who enters these doors. Here’s to new beginnings, brighter futures, and the lasting power of generosity.
