PHIENG CAM PRESCHOOL

MAI SON – SON LA – Vietnam

EXCITING NEWS!!! LSF BREAKS GROUND ON A NEW SCHOOL FOR 100 CHILDREN!

The Lotus School Foundation is elated to break ground on our 16th project, the building of Phieng Cam Preschool located in Mai Son District – Son La Province – Vietnam on October 4, 2020. The new school is projected to complete by the end of December 2020.
The conditions of Phieng Cam School was brought to our attention by one of our local partners, Mrs. Nga Duong with the Ket Noi Trai Tim group. Mrs. Duong is a local teacher with over 23 years of experience teaching in the mountainous area and is highly respected in Son La. Mrs. Duong has visited Phieng Cam school and reported its dire conditions. A major tropical storm that occurred in July of 2020, further damaged the building infrastructure making it unsafe.
We extend our deepest gratitude to Dr. Dat Nguyen and his wife, Dr. Lan Anh Trinh with Hope Foundation Global for sponsoring this new school to help benefit 100 disadvantaged children. This is their second sponsored school. We would also like to thank and recognize many of Dat and Lan Anh’s wonderful friends who have helped contributed to the new school:
• Nguoi Viet Baltimore group
• Ashley Rainbow Foundation
• Đại Diện Khoá 17 Võ Bị Không Quân Đà Lạt (friends of Dat’s dad)
• Other family members and friends.
The new school building is estimated to cost $11,815. The cost covers 4 classrooms and a concrete surface playground to serve 100 students. All of the classrooms will be furnished with new furniture at an additional estimated cost of $1,667.
