The Lotus School Foundation is very pleased to continue our work in serving underprivileged children with the building of our 30th project, Ta Pu Chu Elementary School located in the mountainous area of Chieng An village, Son La province – Vietnam. The school is located deep in the mountain (85km/4 hours drive from the city), and the path to the school is traveled through unpaved, dirt roads. Due to the long distance and poor road conditions, the teachers are unable to commute daily and have stay at the school 3-4 weeks at a time. This school was built in 2001 and the infrastructure is severely deteriorated, as seen from the pictures below.

LSF is deeply grateful for the support of one our friend partners, the Houston Unity Lions Club and its supporters for sponsoring this new school. The cost is estimated at $17,878 to cover 3 classrooms, 1  room for the teachers, 2 restrooms, a concrete playground, and new classroom furniture. Suoi Cheo is located in the mountainous area of Phu Yen district, Son La Province – Vietnam. This school has close to 90 preschoolers and we are beyond happy to see these little ones settling into the new well-constructed and warm classrooms during the cold winter season.
