CHARITABLE COMPASSIONATE HOME

SAPA – LAO CAI – VIETNAM

The Lotus School Foundation is grateful for the opportunity to work with one of our generous sponsors, Tran Boelsterli again to manage the building of another traditional Hmong Compassionate Home in the remote mountainous area of Sapa – Lao Cai – Vietnam. Mrs. Boelsterli and her supporters sponsored the compassionate charitable home for Giang Thi So’s family in 2020, and we are honored to work with her again on this project.

The newly 80m2 Hmong style-inspired constructed house is currently in construction. The home is divided into 4 areas: a living room, 3 bedrooms, kitchen, and a bathroom for the family of Chau Thi Te. Te is a widower who’s currently raising 3 young children on her own. Her husband has passed away while collecting woods in the mountain several years ago. The new house is currently being built and it is expected to complete by August of 2021. The estimated cost of the new home is $7,226. Mrs. Boelsterli and her supporters have donated $6,521 towards the project and the remainder of $705 will be assisted by Father Binh from the Sapa Church.

NEW HOME COMPLETED ON 09/12/2021

A NEW BEGINNING FOR THIS WIDOWER AND HER YOUNG CHILDREN

The Lotus School Foundation team is elated to share the exciting news regarding the completion of the family of Chau Thi Te’s newly compassionate charity home. Due to the outbreak of Covid-19 during the summer, the new home was completed in September. The new house will give this widower and her young children a new beginning of a life with safety and security.

Many hearts and hands were involved in building this beautiful traditional 80m2 Hmong style-inspired home. Due to the rural mountainous poor infrastructure and to keep the building cost at an economical budget of $6,521, the building supplies and materials were transported by motorcycles and on foot. Over 3 tons of cement and more than 10,000 pieces of bricks were transported up the mountain.

We sincerely extend our deep gratitude to our amazing team, Father Peter Binh, Mai, Thom, and Huy for their effort in seeing this project to its completion. Most importantly, this compassionate home would not have been possible without the generous sponsorship of Tran Boelsterli and her supporters. This is Tran’s 2nd sponsored compassionate home through her partnership with LSF, and we are immensely grateful for her trust and support.
