OLD SCHOOL
The villagers in Nhon Mai commune are of ethnic Khu Mo and 90% of the households live in deep poverty. Back in 1990, the villagers donated the woods to build Na Hy Elementary School and through the years, they have tried to repair the wooden building but the infrastructure is seriously degraded beyond repair. The poor classroom conditions are gravely affecting the learning and teaching experience for the students and teachers. Our project Supervisor, Mr. Khai Dam has inspected the school back in March of 2021. The villagers are desperately needing our help to rebuild the new school for their children. The new school building is estimated to cost $13,346. The cost covers 5 classrooms, 2 restrooms, a concrete surface playground, new school entrance signage, and a commercial stainless water tank to store clean water. The classroom furniture will be newly furnished at an additional estimated cost of $1,735 by our local partner, Quy Xay Truong Vung Cao.
The new school is expected to complete by September – October of 2021.
