The school is located in one of the poorest provinces in Vietnam with an estimated 80% of the land is mountainous and much of the populace live below the poverty line.

Project 10 | Nam Nghep Preschool (2020)
The LSF team has worked with the Board of Education in Son La to identify Nam Nghep Preschool as one of the schools that is in need of rebuilding due to its deteriorating conditions. During the winter season, preschoolers suffered from severe cold temperature.

Project 11 | Phieng Pong Primary School (2020)
The poverty rate among ethnic minorities in Son La is 73% and the extreme poverty rate is at high as 44.5%. Ethnic minorities in the region is terribly disadvantaged due to the lack of access to education, infrastructure, transportation, and healthcare.

Project 12 | Huoi Tong Elementary School (2020)
Nghe An province is home to a big number of ethnic minorities who are marginalized due to their ethnicity and also because many live in remote areas. Close to 80% of the population resides in rural areas. Life for poor families and children is full of hardship.

Project 13 | Huoi Pho Elementary School (2020)
As this province is devastated by typhoons, mudslides, and flooding each year, many of the schools in the rural mountainous areas are damaged and/or severely deteriorating. The Lotus School Foundation is pleased to help these children with a new school.

The school is severely deteriorated with heavy cracks throughout the roof and walls making it an unsafe environment to learn. The children are constantly exposing to harsh weather conditions, especially during the winter time when the temperature can drop to below 0.

Little So Giang is a three-year-old ethnic Hmong girl who normally accompanies her mother on the weekend to sell trinkets to the tourists at a Sapa center. Find out how an incredible meeting with a stranger would forever change her life as well as those in her family.

Project 16 | Phieng Cam Preschool (2020)
It has been every villager's dream to have a new school for their children in the last 10 years. A recent major tropical storm further damaged the school building making it a very unsafe environment for 100 preschoolers at Phieng Cam School.

Project 17 | Central Vietnam Flood Relief (2021)
The recent back-to-back floods in Central Vietnam have devastated the region and many families have lost everything. Many children in flood-stricken areas struggle to return to school. Many parents cannot afford the cost of school supplies for their children.

Project 18 | Ban Bon Preschool (2021)
The ethnic minorities in the region are terribly disadvantaged due to the lack of access to education, infrastructure, transportation, and healthcare. Many children in small villages have to walk a long distance of 3-5 miles each day to a different village to go to school.
