Over 7,000 Masks Donated to Support Medical Workers

As the world responds to the outbreak of COVID-19, our thoughts are with the people affected and the medical professionals working around the clock to help those in need. With the crisis testing our collective strength, the time for us to come together and support one another is needed more now than ever.

In answer to the call from hospitals across the country to help address the mask shortage challenge, The Lotus School Foundation team is joined by our friends with the Retreat of Awakening Foundation and others on Facebook to make more than 2,123 fabric masks for our medical workers. In addition to these handmade masks, we have donated 2,000 special antibacterial Nano-fabric masks to the New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center, 1,000 masks to the Morristown Medical Center in New Jersey, and another 1,000 to the Beaumont Hospital in Michigan. On April 02, the LSF team dropped off 2,173 donated masks to the St. Luke’s Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. An additional 950 masks will be distributed to various hospitals in Texas, Oklahoma, and California.

LSF would like to acknowledge the following supporters:

The Lotus School Foundation extends our deepest gratitude to our local partner, QXTVC, in Vietnam for helping LSF ordered and shipped 5,000 antibacterial Nano-fabric face masks to the U.S. We sincerely appreciate their contribution of $1,250 to cover the majority of the shipping fee and the cost of 1,000 face masks donated in support of our medical workers.

We are also very grateful for the overwhelming support from LSF volunteers, friends from the ROA Foundation, and many of Facebook’s golden hearts who have dedicated their time to this special project. The wealth and strength of a nation lie in the heart of its people, and no act of kindness is too small to make a difference during this unprecedented time.
